A Nighttime Exploration of Biofluorescence in Nature

Come and join Lucy for a spectacular evening exploring biofluorescence in nature!

We will begin our evening with a wild-spiced, mushroom hot chocolate and a wander around ancient woodland to look at some of the wild edible and medicinal plants and fungi, as the light fades. When we return, you will be treated to a hot wild-infused soup, alongside a slice of crusty homemade sourdough for dipping!

Please do let us know well in advance of any allergies. All food and drinks are made with the highest quality ingredients and organic, where possible, at every opportunity.

The sourdough is made with ancient grains which, alongside the process of fermentation, makes it incredibly low in gluten. Therefore is tolerable to many with gluten sensitivity.

We are unable to cater for dietary needs without plenty of notice, as the dishes are planned and food sourced in advance of event.

As darkness begins to fall over us, we will begin our UV hunt for bioflourescent fungi, plants, mosses, lichens and bugs with our UV torches.

Children under 14 go free but must be accompanied by an adult – Only 2 children max per adult.

IMPORTANT

Due to the nature of the walk, we are only allowing 2 children per adult.
Please read all the information below before booking children onto this walk.

Each child will be provided with a Hi-Vis vest but to be extra safe, we want to ensure all adults are able to monitor their children closely, as there are some dangerous points across the venue for unsupervised children in the dark. Children need to stay close to their adults for this reason throughout the entire walk.

Come and join Wild Roots Foraging for a guided tour of the edible, medicinal, and biofluorescent flora, fungi, mosses, lichens and bugs of the season and learn how to confidently and safely identify your finds.

During our hunt, you will:

Learn how to forage safely and sustainably.

Learn how to identify wild edibles with confidence.

Get a taste of some fresh wild foods.

Learn how you can cook with what you forage.

Learn how you can process, store & preserve your finds.

Discover how you can make wild medicine, teas, infusions & tinctures.

Learn the folklore & history of the plants and mushrooms we find.

Learn the health benefits and cautions.

On top of this, all attendees will receive a FREE copy of the ‘Wild Roots Good Guide to Foraging’ ebook.

PLEASE NOTE

We do not cancel events for rain.

If rain is forecast, please come well prepared with the correct footwear and waterproof clothing.

There are no toilets available on this walk.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.
