Come and join Lucy on a wild and wonderful journey to explore the culinary and medicinal wonders of the wild in autumn. This includes a variety of gourmet mushrooms that would usually cost you a pretty penny to enjoy!

Learn how you can take your foraging to the next level, with both fresh and preserved harvests that will last you all year long.

You will also get to sample a variety of Lucy’s delicious, homemade, wild-food tasters along the way and finish with organic, wood-fired, sourdough, mushroom pizzas!

Come and join Wild Roots Foraging for a guided tour of the edible and medicinal wild plants and fungi of the season and learn how to confidently and safely identify your finds.

 

We will begin with a mushroom coffee (bring a mug) while Lucy talks to you about all the basics of foraging to keep you on the path of safe and sustainable foraging. Then we will depart on our wild food and mushroom hunt, along hedgerow and mossy forest.

Once you have enjoyed your guided tour of the surrounding plants and fungi, we will give you the opportunity to learn the proper identification process, yourself. Before finally heading back, to tuck into some delicious wild food goodies of the season! (vegan options available upon request).

 

TASTE WOOD-FIRED WILD MUSHROOM PIZZA AFTER YOUR WALK

At the end of our walk, you will be treated to try some delicious, wood-fired, organic, sour-dough pizza, topped with the tastiest, gourmet wild mushrooms!

 

Spaces are limited. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Children under 14 go FREE – just message to let us know they’re coming!

PLEASE NOTE
This walk is on a steady incline and may be challenging for some.
There are no toilets available at this site and it is not an accessible location.
Just let us know in advance, so we can plan ahead!
And well behaved dogs are welcome but bear in mind there will be food served and sheep are freely oaming the area. Any dogs without good recall must be kept on leads at all times.

Wild Food & Drinks

If you would like to try some of the food provided please let us know well in advance of any dietary requirements.

We are unable to cater for dietary needs without plenty of notice, as the dishes are planned and food sourced in advance of event.

Event will be around 4 hours long but may go over so try to be flexible.

There is free parking available but it can get extremely busy on sunny weekends. Please car share where possible or if you are a good walker, you can park in further down and walk up to meet us. The exact location will be emailed to you upon booking.

Please remember to check your junk folder!

There are limited spaces available and this is the only event of its kind this year – booking early is essential to secure your space. 

You can select the PayPal Pay in 3 option to make the cost of the event more manageable.

Please bring warm clothes, waterproofs in wet weather, and good walking boots/wellies.
