Foraging Walk

Wild Pasta Workshop

Wild Garlic Recipes

Plus a Wild Garlic Lunch

Learn everything you need to know
about foraging, eating, cooking and preserving wild garlic
from forest floor to plate!

THINK OF IT AS MORE OF A WILD GARLIC DAY RETREAT

Join me for a full day workshop to learn not only how to safely identify wild food but how to use it, cook, and store it, so you can go away ready to incorporate more foraged food into your daily home life.

WITH THE OPTION TO TURN YOUR DAY INTO A MINI-BREAK

Nestled in the beautiful settings of Baby Moon in North Yorkshire, surrounded by woodland and glorious amounts of delicious wild food. You will also have the option to turn your day into a full on, relaxing and rejuvenating mini-break, if you choose to book into their gorgeous glamp site.

note: not available for March workshops

BECOME A WILD FOODIE FAST

I know just what it’s like to know how beneficial a diet with more wild food would be, for both ourselves and the planet, and yet not have the knowledge and the skills to make it a regular part of our lives – let alone the time to learn how to do that! Life is so busy and sometimes reading foraging books and recipes doesn’t give us all the support we need.

It took me years to build this knowledge and the confidence to start using what I had learned, and I want to help you get to where you want to be on your wild food journey, much quicker than it has taken me!

LEARN TO PREPARE DELICIOUS & SIMPLE WILD FOOD DISHES

Make your own wild food lunch from scratch. I will show you an easy way to make a healthy, wild garlic meal, with my homemade pasta and wild garlic recipes. As well as looking at what other wild greens we can add in, at this time of year.

Plant-based options are available upon request but I am, unfortunately, currently under-skilled in the area of gluten free pasta making. My recipe also includes nuts, so it is good to know ahead of time, I think, that there will be nuts in the workshop. Please enquire if you would like more information about allergies and I will do my best to accommodate you.

EAT A FRESHLY MADE WILD PASTA DINNER

Then we will cook it all up, together, fresh, to enjoy for lunch – followed by a home baked nettle and lemon cake for dessert! All washed down with your own foraged wild teas (and potentially some of my homemade wild beers and kombuchas).

Main

Wild ravioli or taglietelle with olive oil & wild garlic salt or black garlic sauce
Wheat based organic 00 pasta ravioli with cream cheese
& wild herby stuffing

DESSERT

Nettle & Lemon Cake
A mix of organic flour with wildly sourced & local ingredients

AND LEARN A FEW MORE WILD GARLIC TRICKS TO TAKE HOME

After lunch, we will explore a few ways of using, preserving and storing your wild garlic, so you can go home full of all the knowledge you need, and a few goodies, to enjoy this wild garlic season to the full! Bring some of your own reusable jars!

Wild Roots Foraging

reconnecting nature and people one weed at a time

Lucy’s passion and knowledge for the foraged world is infectious. She absolutely blew my mind with the fountain of knowledge and information that spilled from her. I would highly recommend a walk with Lucy.

Hayley Brown

I think everyone should take this course and discover the world of foraging and ancient recipes, because unless we pass this information and share amongst ourselves, it’ll be lost forever and it would be heartbreaking to lose such wisdom.

Lucy’s knowledge is amazing; her energy and humour infectious and her hard work made this course concise, informative, enjoyable and fun.
