Learn everything you need to know
about foraging, eating, cooking and preserving wild food in Spring
from forest floor to plate!

THINK OF IT AS MORE OF A WILD FOOD DAY RETREAT

Immerse yourself in nature, in every sense of the word, for one whole day.

Using all of our senses to truly wrap nature all around us, we will indulge in foraging, forest bathing, fire circle, creating wild food dishes by hand and of course tasting everything along the way!

WILD FOOD DAY RETREAT

BECOME A WILD FOODIE FAST

I know just what it’s like to know how beneficial a diet with more wild food would be, for both ourselves and the planet, and yet not have the knowledge and the skills to make it happen – let alone the time to learn how!

Life is so busy and sometimes reading foraging books and recipes doesn’t give us all the support that we need. Sometimes, it takes a village!

It took me years to build this knowledge and the confidence to start using what I had learned. I want to help you get to where you want to be on your wild food journey, much quicker than it took me!

LEARN TO PREPARE DELICIOUS & SIMPLE WILD FOOD DISHES

Make your own wild food lunch from scratch. I will show you an easy way to make a healthy, wild food meal, with my own library of easy to create recipes. Plus we will look at what other fresh, seasonal wild greens & edible flowers we can add in, at this time of year, as well as preserved foods from the previous year.

Plant-based options are available upon request but I am, unfortunately, not always able to make my recipes fully gluten-free but I will always try to make replacements where possible. My recipes also include lots of nuts, so may not always be suitable for nut allergies. Please enquire if you would like more information about allergies and I will do my best to accommodate you.

EAT A FRESHLY MADE WILD FOOD DINNER

Then we will cook it all up, together, fresh, to enjoy for lunch – followed by a home baked nettle and lemon cake for dessert! All washed down with your own foraged wild teas (and potentially some of my homemade wild beers and kombuchas).

Main

Wild ravioli or taglietelle with olive oil & wild garlic salt or black garlic sauce
Mix of sweet chestnut flour and organic 00 pasta ravioli with wild mushroom or cream cheese
& wild herby filling.

DESSERT

Nettle & Lemon Cake
A nettle sponge cake using a mix of organic flour with wildly sourced & local ingredients, decorated with wild edible flowers.

AND LEARN A FEW MORE WILD GARLIC TRICKS TO TAKE HOME

Throughout the day, we will explore a few ways of using, preserving and storing wild garlic, so you can make the most of the season and go home full of all the knowledge you need – plus a few goodies! Bring some of your own reusable jars!

Wild Roots Foraging

reconnecting nature and people one weed at a time

Lucy’s passion and knowledge for the foraged world is infectious. She absolutely blew my mind with the fountain of knowledge and information that spilled from her. I would highly recommend a walk with Lucy.

Hayley Brown

I think everyone should take this course and discover the world of foraging and ancient recipes, because unless we pass this information and share amongst ourselves, it’ll be lost forever and it would be heartbreaking to lose such wisdom.

Lucy’s knowledge is amazing; her energy and humour infectious and her hard work made this course concise, informative, enjoyable and fun.
