Discover the Hidden Abundance of the Coast
This relaxed, immersive coastal foraging day in the marshlands of Cumbria invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the meeting place of land and sea.
Guided by our wonderful forager Bex, you’ll learn to recognise, harvest and understand the edible and medicinal plants, seaweeds and succulents that thrive in this unique coastal landscape, many of which are quietly growing all around us, often overlooked.

Marshland environments are rich, ever-changing spaces shaped by the rhythm of the tides. The plants that grow here have adapted in remarkable ways, offering deep nourishment, flavour, and a powerful connection to place.
As we wander gently through the landscape, Bex will share how to identify key species, how to forage safely and sustainably, and how to begin bringing these wild ingredients into your own kitchen.

Midway through the day, we’ll gather on the beach for a campfire cook-up, preparing and sharing wild food together by the sea. It’s a chance to slow right down, warm your hands by the fire, and taste the landscape in its truest form.
Wild drinks and refreshments will be provided throughout the event.
Whether this is your very first foraging experience or you already have some knowledge, you’ll be met exactly where you are.

Your day will include:
how to forage safely and sustainably
how to identify wild edibles with confidence
sampling an array of tasty wild foods including salt marsh plants and coastal greens
learn how to cook with what you forage
how to process, store & preserve your finds
how to make wild medicine, teas, infusions & tinctures
learn the folklore & history
learn the health benefits and cautions
On top of this, all attendees will receive a FREE copy of the ‘Wild Roots’ Good Guide to Foraging’ ebook.
