Join Lucy from Wild Roots Foraging and Meg, aka, ‘That Holistic Tutor’, for an incredible day of foraging and botanical dyes!

Starting the day will look like sipping wild teas from Lucy’s Wild Tea Cupboard, chatting and connecting, before heading out into the ancient woodland, to see what is around to forage for food, wellbeing, and wild dyeing!

Lucy will teach you all the basics of foraging safely, sustainably, confidently, and within the boundaries of the law.

Bring your notebooks, because she has a lot to say about all the other fantastic features and facts about what’s out there, including, but not limited to; medicinal uses, recipes, health benefits, folklore, and cautions.

Alongside Lucy, Meg will be there to show you which wild plants can, also, offer us a wonderful array of colours for wild dyeing. And why it is important to return to these ancient methods, which our ancestors once knew, so well.

Then we’ll head back, with our treasures, for more wild teas, before Meg introduces you to all the magical and diverse ways of the botanical dye world.

You will be introduced to some of the different approaches to natural dyeing, which will include:

  • Mordanting and the importance of pre-treating fabric
  • Dye bath submersion
  • Hammering
  • Natural inks and paints

And you will go home with your own handmade samples, dyed calico tote bag, and a wealth of new-found, wild knowledge, on how we can all return to the most earth-kind, dye practice, in the world!

Be prepared for a messy day! Old clothes and/or aprons are recommended. You might like to bring a foraging basket or canvas bag, too, for collecting pieces.

Wild Food & Drinks

As usual, Lucy will be providing a few wild food treats to try but please bring along your own food/snacks, too, to keep yourself sustained.

If you would like to try some of the food provided please let us know, in good time, before the event.

We are unable to cater for dietary needs without plenty of notice, as the dishes are planned and food sourced well in advance.

There are only 15 spaces available on each workshop. Booking early is essential.

PAY IN 3
You can now pay in 3 monthly instalments, using the ‘PayPal Pay in 3’ option.

Just select this option at checkout, to spread out your payments, easily.

Please make sure to read our cancellation policy before you purchase an event.
